Scott Brown is President and Chief Creative Officer of The Company of Others.
In November of 2013, a panel of top business journalists representing Bloomberg Businessweek, Chicago Tribune, Fast Company, Financial Times, Fortune, and USA Today awarded Scott Entrepreneur/Founder of the Year for the vision that transformed the agency FKM into The Company of Others. The panel also recognized The Company of Others as Best New Company of 2013.
After receiving dual degrees in Business and French from Rice University, Scott began his career at Tocquigny, a top digital agency, and soon rose to Creative Director. Following this, he was Digital Creative Director at Barkley, the renowned Kansas City-based agency. His work received numerous industry awards from organizations such as Communication Arts, One Show and OMMA.
In 2010, Scott assumed the leadership role at FKM. He and the agency soon appeared on AMC’s The Pitch, winning agency of record responsibilities for Direct Energy Home Services.
For the past two years, Scott has been leading the formation of an alliance of innovators and culture creators across technology, food, art, fashion, social media, publishing and music. To create The Company of Others, he combined the cultural insights afforded by this alliance with the marketing capabilities of FKM. Scott now works to close the gap between trends and brands by connecting what innovators are exploring at the front end of the culture to what is relevant to mass audiences.
Scott serves on the 4A’s Agency Leadership Forum. He is a guest curator on AHAlife, named by Fast Company as one of the 25 Most Innovative Websites of 2013. Scott lives in Houston with his wife and two children.
